Wordzy is a Word Puzzle game on the Xbox Indie Marketplace. Challenging you to guess a 5 letter word based upon the first letter. The game offers 4 modes of play - timed, round, points, and free play. These can be played in Singleplayer, Local Multiplayer and even Online Multiplayer.
The game itself is extremely simple - as stated above you must complete a 5 letter word. After each guess it will state if any letters were in the correct place. If you require even more assistance the game lets you use the 'Bonus Letter' function to reveal one more letter at the cost of a time/point penalty. I'll be honest right now and say I am what one might call "a total noob" at Word Puzzles, so these assists were a welcome addition, yet arn't necessarily forced upon the player for someone who doesn't want to use them.

In terms of presentation the game holds up pretty well. The interface is simple and self explanatory. The style of the letter pieces can be changed, and are all very clear. A neat touch is using your gamerpicture to represent the player, something not seen in many indie games. Sound in the game is all as expected - a simple tune plays in the background whilst you play and on the menus, which isn't intrusive and works suitably as background music.
A fantastic addition to the game is the multiplayer options. Not only does the game support local multiplayer with a buddy but also online multiplayer. Sadly I didn't get to test out the online portion of the game however due to the nature of the game I can't imagine the usual array of online issues (such as lag) being an issue in Wordzy. The offline multiplayer works wonderfully offering the ability to play word puzzles with someone else on the same screen - a great option for someone looking to get their partner or family members involved in gaming.

Overall Wordzy is a simple yet enjoyable game for those looking for some basic word puzzle solving. The game is sure to appeal to anyone so is a brillaint game to show to a partner or family, and get them involved in gaming. It would have been nice to see some lengthier puzzles rather than just 5 letter words, however the dictionary appears to be pretty extensive, meaning that unless you play Wordzy for a ridiculous amount of hours you generally won't come across the same word twice. For 80 points it's definitely worth checking out if you're looking for more games to play with the family, or are a fan of word puzzles.
