It's been a desire of mine for the past couple of years to create a gaming community such as what we have now as some of you may know, please read on by hitting the Read More link below...
When Game-Pad first launched a little over 2 weeks ago, we promised to bring you gaming news & reviews, interviews, awesome site features and a solid community feel. It's always tough setting up a website like this, we wanted to succeed where others have failed and when I told Lucifonz my plan to set this site up I honestly expected him to say 'Good luck mate' and not care much either way.
I should have known better though, I've only known Lucifonz 2 years now, and obviously only over the internet, but I know him well enough to know that he doesn't turn away from a challenge and that he wants the clan to be brought back as much as I do.
So he didn't say 'Good luck mate' he knuckled in together we built Game-Pad. But really, it's not been built by just me and Lucifonz, but by everybody who visits the site, it's a community that makes a website, all of you guys who contribute by posting on the forums, in the shoutbox, putting up news etc.
Over the past couple of weeks me and Lucifonz have endeavoured to bring some great and exciting things to the site - The podcast, news, reviews and interviews. The interviews have been a big target for us. I compiled two seperate lists of indie game developers, one for me and one for Lucifonz. I then asked him to contact the ones on his list and I did the same.
We targeted indie developers first because we felt they were the guys most likely to respond to a small gaming site such as ours, and like us, they need all the publicity they can get. Some of them responded and others did not, you'll have to keep your eyes on the site over the coming weeks to see just what we've got in store on the interview front.
As most of you know the first episode of the podcast took some time to record and was done in segments, however episode 1 is now up and most of you have probably listened to it already.
Anyhow, this has turned into a long winded article. All I want from you guys now, is to visit this forum thread and discuss the site!
Have fun.
