Currently PS3 owners are suffering from a global PSN lockdown. The issue prevents users from playing most recent titles specifically those with trophies, as the console cannot connect to PSN and therefore cannot confirm the trophy information. This is said to be caused by a bug in the systems related to it's internal calender, and users around the web are stating to not turn on your PS3 consoles until the issue is resolved.
Sony are looking into the issue however there has currently been no update for 10 hours. Apparently the issue is only affecting pre-slim consoles. We'll keep you updated on this issue as soon as we hear more!
UPDATE: Sony have confirmed the issue is related to the internal clock and hope to have the issue fixed within 24 hours. In the mean time Sony have advised users to avoid using their system until the issue is resolved as doing so "could result in errors in some functionality". Keep up to date with Sony's Twitter to find out when the issue is resolved.
