Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer Confirmed

The rumours have finally come to an end - Mass Effect 3 will have multiplayer. Australian games magazine 'PC PowerPlay' confirmed the news in a preview of their November issue stating "That's right - Mass Effect 3 is getting multiplayer! We travel to BioWare's office in Edmonton for hands-on time with the series' first foray into online gameplay..."

Update: Casey Hudson has tweeted re-confirming the news "Yes, co-op MP missions for #ME3: they're real, and they're spectacular. Rest assured it's nothing of what you've feared. More soon..."

Aslong as it doesn't detract from the singleplayer I'm all for new modes. I can only imagine a cooperative kind of experience - it makes sense with the squad mates already following you around.

Can't say it was on the top of my list though, especially for the finale of a previously singleplayer only trilogy.

Will probs never touch the MP tbh, Mass Effect has been a solely single player experience for me and will remain thus with the third, not knocking it, just saying it's not for me personally.

Co-op could be a nice little addition and could work well considering the squad style of ME, as long as working on that doesn't distract them too much from making the singleplayer as awesome as the first 2. This might just be something they're trying out to see what sort of direction they could go in once the trilogy is complete, as I seem to remember them saying there would be more to come in the ME universe even if it doesn't follow Shepard.
