Impressed!! I see what Strite means about the floatyness initially. Alot of that to me feels down to the camera, which especially in enclosed areas is really quite poor. It's abit more forgiving once you get outdoors, but the speed at which it resets forward when you start moving is too long. I tweeted them about this and within a couple of minutes they replied pointing me to a thread (
t.co/OZytJybH) which states that the demo build is indeed a few months old. Touch wood this will be improved by launch! Hats off to whoever is manning their twitter, it's rare to see such prompt responses from a dev team.
This is one lengthy demo. It takes about 30 mins, if not more, to leave the tutorial area. After that you're given 45 minutes to explore an open area full of quests, enemies and loot. Annoyingly it's late and I can't play for 45 mins, therefore finding out that you're rewarded an ME3 ingame item after the 45 mins is over made me a sad panda. I'll have to fire it up and leave the timer to tick down tomorrow.
Combat feels alot of fun. I'll be going a dagger/ranged character, however initially I felt magic seemed far more damaging than daggers. After hitting level 2, pickpocketing some daggers off a guard and plopping 3 points into the dagger damage talent, the damage I was dealing was noticeably better! It's fast paced and satisfying. Reminded me abit of Darksiders in how the combat played.
Class system looks great. 3 big trees in Might, Finesse and Sworcery to suit how you want to play. Depending on how many points you put into these broad areas you'll be granted 'destinies' to choose (classes) which provide you with tons of bonus stats. There looks to be 50 (inc the base no spec one).
No thoughts on the story as I purposely skipped through all dialogue so that I could leave it to the final game.
Day 1 buy for me definitely, can't wait to play the final build!
