Impressed!! I see what Strite means about the floatyness initially. Alot of that to me feels down to the camera, which especially in enclosed areas is really quite poor. It's abit more forgiving once you get outdoors, but the speed at which it resets forward when you start moving is too long. I tweeted them about this and within a couple of minutes they replied pointing me to a thread (t.co/OZytJybH) which states that the demo build is indeed a few months old. Touch wood this will be improved by launch! Hats off to whoever is manning their twitter, it's rare to see such prompt responses from a dev team.

This is one lengthy demo. It takes about 30 mins, if not more, to leave the tutorial area. After that you're given 45 minutes to explore an open area full of quests, enemies and loot. Annoyingly it's late and I can't play for 45 mins, therefore finding out that you're rewarded an ME3 ingame item after the 45 mins is over made me a sad panda. I'll have to fire it up and leave the timer to tick down tomorrow.

Combat feels alot of fun. I'll be going a dagger/ranged character, however initially I felt magic seemed far more damaging than daggers. After hitting level 2, pickpocketing some daggers off a guard and plopping 3 points into the dagger damage talent, the damage I was dealing was noticeably better! It's fast paced and satisfying. Reminded me abit of Darksiders in how the combat played.

Class system looks great. 3 big trees in Might, Finesse and Sworcery to suit how you want to play. Depending on how many points you put into these broad areas you'll be granted 'destinies' to choose (classes) which provide you with tons of bonus stats. There looks to be 50 (inc the base no spec one).

No thoughts on the story as I purposely skipped through all dialogue so that I could leave it to the final game.

Day 1 buy for me definitely, can't wait to play the final build!

I've also gone from 'color me unimpressed' at the start of the demo to day one purchase!

The game grew on me tremendously as the demo went on. Like you Chaz I skipped nearly all of the dialogue, but the parts that I did catch grabbed my attention and made me want to know more about the story and the world as a whole. The games premise is particularly interesting with the whole search for immortality and the Well of Souls so I'm interested to see how it pans out.

Overall I'm really looking forward to playing this now. Yes, it has some issues, I was also frustrated a couple of times by the camera. Found myself wishing they'd have put a 'lock camera' feature in so that it locks to the back of your player and only moves if/when I pan it manually, but alas that's only a small annoyance. The character creation could be a bit beefier considering this game is treading in the footsteps of games like TES, ME, DA and other popular RPG's but nevertheless, there are quite a few options available so it's not a huge issue.

Personally I preferred playing as a Sorcerer (Though sneaking up behind that guy when you first get the daggers and performing the stealth kill is immensely satisfying!) As anybody who's ever played an RPG or MMO with me before will attest to, generally I favour Casters of one kind or another. I found the animations for the Caster absolutely fantastic, the way he twirls the staff when attacking and the spell animations were all top notch, in fact the animations on the whole are pretty well done throughout.

So yeah, the game might not truly bring anything genre-changing but what it does it does well.

Check out the meaty demo!

The great thing is even if you didn't want to go pure Caster they account for that and give you bonuses! I had a look at the destinies page and will definitely be going a finesse + might build to become a blademaster.

Justa n fyi for you guys, if you retry the demo after already completing the tutorial bit then you have the option to start in the glade area so you dont have to waste any time going back thru the initial area.

Yeah that's an awesome feature! I didn't have time to do the full 45 mins when I first tried it, so then I went back on the next day and was able to jump right into that so that I could get the mass effect 3 unlock for finishing the demo.
